A new app lets you mix and match your favourite dishes from multiple restaurants.
YET another food delivery app to launch in the city (adding to the likes of Swiggy and Dinein), Foodmash lets you can custom-make your own combos from more than one restaurant. So if you’d like to pair a sandwich from Subway with a milkshake from Big Sip you can get them delivered together at your doorstep within 50 minutes. However, they currently deliver only to Nandanam, Kotturpuram, Alwarpet, Teynampet and RA Puram.
Co-founder Prashant Balaji admits that their initial arrangement of having pre-defined combos limited customers’ choices. So his team of six promptly tweaked their concept, this time allowing people to order from restaurants of their choice. Currently, other restaurants like Eatalica, Carnival and Dhabba Express have tied up with this month-old app to deliver salads, biryani, sandwiches and pasta.
“We have a packaging centre in Nandanam, where our delivery boys assemble dishes and pack them in separate heat insulated bags,” says Balaji.
The 23-year-old graduate of Guindy’s College of Engineering assures that they will soon have dedicated personnel for home delivery and picking up from restaurants. “For now, it’s the six of us who do the deliveries,” he shares.
Come May 16, they have a special election offer in store where you can avail a flat discount of 20 per cent on your total bill. All you have to do is show your inked finger at the time of delivery. “We also have a loyalty points system coming up, where people get discounts based on accumulated points per order,” reveals Balaji, adding that so far they have over 300 registered users and a monthly frequency of around 20 orders.
