Vikram Savio Moses, Radio One’s new RJ, on the city’s first football show
Just a month into his job at Radio One (94.3), RJ Vikram Savio Moses is already channeling his personal interests into creating unique shows. A former football player (he spends much of his free time catching up on football matches and leagues), he convinced the producers to create a special two-hour show on the game. Goal is on air every Saturday at 3 pm. “I think it is the only radio show that is dedicated to football. It talks about English Premier League and other matches. We review the matches, talk about the players and club changes, etc,” says the 24-year-old RJ who is a fan of Brazilian footballer, Ronaldinho, and the Chelsea FC.
Moses’ other show, On Demand Chennai, is more generic, and runs from noon till 5 pm. “The first segment is about food, where I talk about the new restaurants in the city. The next segment is about gadgets and then I have an hour on cinema. The last segment is general, and we talk about current affairs and the raging issues in the country,” says the Chennai-based RJ. One of four RJs at Radio One, he is quick to admit that he struggled for well over a year to enter radio. “Every channel wants an RJ who is fluent in Tamil. Thankfully, Radio One is a bilingual channel, so I manage my shows in English and occasionally in Tamil,” says Moses, who studied at Loyola College.
