Auroville Retreat’s upcoming workshop uses guided exercises to cheer you up.
IF A SMILE is what you seek, then we suggest you make a trip to Auroville and attend an upcoming workshop there. Although its aim is to bring alive your cheery side, the science behind the Happy Sapiens workshop, conducted by Auroville Retreat, is not as simple. Minhaj Ameen, one of the hosts, explains, “Happy Sapiens is a training workshop for the heart, where we use guided visualisations and neuro linguistic programming (NLP) techniques to help participants open up about what’s stressing them. We also use provocation and raj yoga techniques to challenge them to get out of their comfort zone.”
Ameen will be joined by Puneet Bhatnagar, co-founder of Creativity Mission India and former creative head at Star News. He is also the brain behind advertising campaigns like ‘Tata Namak, desh ka namak’, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati: Nau baj gaye kya’ and many more. “At Happy Sapiens, we will conduct group exercises that will enable guests to learn more about each other,” says Bhatnagar.
With many participants from Auroville, Ameen says they also have people signing up for the free workshop from NGOs like the Azim Premji Foundation and Development Alternatives. With plans to spread cheer across the country and the globe, he reveals that they already have invitations to take Happy Sapiens to Mumbai, Bhopal, Ujjain and Meghalaya.
