We may adore these stars but they have a different face backstage. Here are some A-Listers who are difficult to work with
Girl gone bad
Last in the news for her ‘conscious uncoupling’ with estranged husband Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow is once again being called about for her bad attitude. According to sources, producers don’t want to work with Paltrow anymore. “Gwyneth has annoyed people to the point where no one wants to deal with her. She has always been pretentious, but over the past few years she has gone from pretentious to unbearable. Madonna wants nothing to do with her, Jennifer Garner thinks she’s like a high school mean girl, and Jennifer Lopez has no patience for the ‘whiny little rich girl’.”
Causing a scene
This is not the first complaint against actress-singer Lea Michele. The 27-year-old, well known for her role in Glee, recently stormed off the sets after being called a diva by her co-star Naya Rivera. ‘‘Most of the cast and crew starring were annoyed with Michele for making everyone wait for her to start shooting while she dealt with her own personal matters on set.’’ After repeated incidents, Rivera complained about Michele’s unprofessional behaviour to the producers of the show, which is in its fifth season.
Drive to distract
Though actress Amber Heard has not been doing too many movies, she has been in the news for dating A-lister Johnny Depp. But this does not mean she can throw her weight around on the sets of her upcoming thriller, London Fields, say critics. The 27-year-old reportedly threw a tantrum on set, complaining that a group of onlookers were distracting her. According to a source, ‘‘Right in the middle of the scene, she stopped and said, ‘How am I supposed to do this when all I can see is that guy?’ Next thing, they put up a screen so Amber could film her scene without any distractions. ’’
Days passed by
Once upon a time, she was at the top of her game, but it is rare to spot actress Katherine Heigl in movies these days. Perhaps it has to do with her bad behaviour—coming late to work, insulting juniors and questioning the script are some of the charges levelled against her. However, after this recent interview with Variety magazine, we think she has cottoned on to the problem. “I certainly don’t see myself as being difficult. I would never intend to be difficult. I think it’s important to everybody to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully and kindly, so if I’ve ever disappointed somebody, it was never intentional.”
Piece of advice
If there was something that came in for criticism on American Idol, it was Nicki Minaj in the judging panel. According to an insider at the show, “Not only was she always late, but she always had a huge entourage with her and was rude to the contestants and their families, refusing to talk with them. And she wouldn’t allow anyone to take pictures of her, or with her.” In fact, the ex-judge’s rift with singer Mariah Carey caught the attention of Queen Latifah, who said Minaj should learn to respect her elders.
