Home Bangalore The table is set

This new site  offers you a  safer and  hassle-free  environment to play poker online

There is a new player in the online poker space, and it’s called PokerNation. A few others who have been around for some time now include Adda52, Khelo365, Poker Guru, Poker Baazi, and Star Poker. While its business head Gautam Thawani tells us their offerings, in terms of games, are pretty similar to what’s already there on the Internet, they aim to make the user experience better, safe and hassle-free.
Since you get to deal with real money here, they have fast-tracked the banking transactions to just two steps. The site is open only to Indian residents over 18 years of age. And its risk management team will assess from time to time if a player is dealing beyond limits. They have the power to suspend their accounts for two to four months. They also have checks in place to ensure that you are playing against ‘real people’, and not facing off with organised groups. “These are some of the common apprehensions that users have about online poker,” he adds.
While PokerNation is an online platform for playing the ever-green Texas Hold’em, and Blaze Poker card games, and, yes, making money, their focus is as much on the skillsets to ace the game. They are trying to promote poker as a sport, a game of skill, and they call it the aspect that differentiates them. In fact, months before their May launch, they organised free poker tournaments in engineering colleges, including IITs, and Bits-Pilani; and ad agencies, under its ‘teach-learn-play’ initiative. For these reasons, they offer the option of playing games for free on the site, where they load you with 2,000 points by default. They also noticed that 25 per cent of the participants were women.
If you were to log on to their site now, you will find four segments. ‘Free games’ lets you play Omahas, and Holdems free of cash, the ‘Instant Play’ set of games, such as The Rollers, The Spinners, The Skipper, Step Up Citizen, and Race Ahead, includes money. You can also up the challenge factor, and participate in ‘Tournaments’, such as Turbo Rebuy, and Deep Stack Freezeout. And here’s a chance you might not want to pass up — you can take home a Honda Jazz by winning one of their upcoming freeway tournaments. Just put down Rs 10 to enter. If that’s not enough, you can also register for their Gadget Weekends offer for just Rs 1, or 10,000 play chips, and win an iPhone 6s.
You can either play on your desktop (available in Mac and Windows), or your mobile. Work on their mobile app is currently underway. By month-end, they will go live with their loyalty redemption website, where you can redeem your points for various merchandise.
