Offering a wide range of indigenous leather handbags, Delhi-based sisters Riddhima and Saloni Sayal have taken their two-and-a-half-year-old brand, Risa, online this month. With everything from totes, clutches, slings, duffle and travel bags, the brand is now available in the United States and Europe, too. Known for manufacturing their own leather, the duo has opted to import Italian patent leather for their Spring Summer collection 2015. “Embossed shoppers is on the ‘It list’ for this collection, with brown and black being the major colours,” shares Riddhima.
For the men
Revealing that they are also working on a men’s collection of slings, cross bodies, wallets and hand stitched laptop bags, which will be out soon, she adds, “You will be surprised to note that men are also looking to experiment with colours. Army green is becoming a major trend and we are looking to do a collection based on that colour.” A political science graduate, Riddhima shares their USP: “We use hand tooling on each of our leather bags—like embroidery, knotting and hand painting.” Expect bags ranging from the ever-classic black leather to oranges and neons. After their successful collaboration with designer Urvashi Kaur for the Will’s Lifestyle Collection, in which they worked on earthy colours for their bags, the sisters are also working on a range of leather jackets which will be showcased in three months.
