Hairstylist Editha Kocks comes down to the city for a workshop.
Get the real scoop on what’s trending in hair colour and styles, with Netherlands-based Editha Kocks, the global creative master of Keune Haircosmetics. The renowned colour specialist and hair stylist will be conducting a workshop on September 19 in the city. Here for the brand’s launch of their hair colour product, So Pure, Kocks informs us that, “(at the workshop) I will focus on colour theory and colour application. I will also talk about new trends and some tips on evening styling, cuts and colours”.
The 32-year-old says that the top trends in haircuts for this season include face-hugging cuts like the medium bob and casual, playful and loose cuts like the shlob, and a lot of free-hand work. When it comes to colouring, Kocks explains that cooler tones like grey, ash and blonde are in and, as 2017 sets in, the tones will turn warmer. “We will see a transit to more violet tones,” she says.
Kocks also observes, “In my country, there are a lot of pixie cuts and short haircuts. In India, people want long hair. The market also focusses on hair challenges like dryness and hair fall.” The stylist, who is in Chennai for the first time, gives us some easy tricks of the trade to manage hair in our humid weather. “To beat the humidity, I always advise people to use serum that will keep their hair’s moisture intact and protect it from outer moisture. The second thing is leave-in conditioner (helps in detangling hair), especially for long hair, to make sure that it won’t go crazy,” concludes Kocks.
On September 19, at Courtyard by Marriott. From 3 pm to 5 pm.
