Manoviraj Khosla primes you for a good time with his latest line
MANOVIRAJ Khosla uses sequin ned sheaths and flowing silhouettes to bring out the a?love to partya? spirit of the city in a collection designed as a a?tribute to Bangalorea?. Staying true to his flamboyant yet wearable aesthetic, bright pops of colour meet a?the always in stylea? monochrome for women while the menas line sees leather detailing and a lot more edge.
Draped chiffon, knit and silk in fluorescent shades of fuchsia, yellow, orange and blue are embellished with woven sequins a to let you sparkle through the night. Combinations of black and gold rule his classic evening gowns and maxis come with plenty of flow.
The brunch brigade has an entire section dedicated to summer dresses and day wear. a?The range has a lot of digital prints in light, bright colours along with kaftans thrown in the mix,a? Khosla tells us adding that holiday makers can stock up on their resort wear quite happily here. He predicts that pastels will give way to a?slightly deeper tones of red, yellow and pinka? this season with maxis still the hot favourite for formal evening wear. a?But we are going shorter for the cocktail and party circuit,a? he confides.
Fusions and neons
The menas line, his forte, sees the revival of velvet in more subdued versions of the decadent fabric. a?I use it both as the base as well as through laser cut detailing,a? shares Khosla who adds a touch of Indian elements to his jackets a Nehru collars and Jodhpuri pants. We also noticed the generous use of leather in everything from motifs to trims and piping. And we especially loved the range of fluorescent linen jackets and crisp white shirts with quirky prints like bicycles, gramophones and clocks in neon.
