DOESN’T it just warm the cockles of your heart when your week begins and ends with a bang? People always crib about working too hard all the time, and my detractors think that just because I’m visible, I’m doing squat with my time. Honestly dahlings, one must always strive to work smartly, swiftly and succinctly. Now that will always leave you with more than enough time for play!
My early week ‘playground’ was a spa party at the Ritz Carlton. This innovative idea of giving the ladies a midweek break was a great thought. Since the party lasted till sun down, I ambled in to grab a quick lunch, (some fabulous Thai green curry with sticky rice), pop a couple of divine chocolates in my mouth and settle down with a glass of bubbly to get a glorious foot massage. This Aphrodite (the theme was white and silver) inspired ‘sparty’ was my payoff for working smart!
The diminutive dynamite Athena Salim, the new GM of The Park Hotel seems to have the party people of Bangalore enthralled. She invited us to have a dekho at the revamped poolside area and all of us were charmed with the nouvelle ambiance. The rocking music and scrumptious barbeque snacks that were being passed around coupled with a fabulous bar just ensured that this intimate soirée was a resounding hit. I absolutely loved the idea of small aperitif bowls filled with nuts and chocolates, platters of camembert cheese and big juicy strawberries that adorned each table.
The lovely Dia Bhandari held one of her very classy events to introduce the famed Brooks Brothers to our city. The creme-de-la-creme
of the city was there (but naturally), eagerly inspecting the merchandise while partaking in some excellent cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres.
But the best was definitely saved for the last. At Indulge we believe in nothing but the best. Whether
it’s our attempt to give you a glimpse at the latest in fashion, lifestyle or even in a tongue-in-cheek view of our city. The ITC Gardenia was the venue of one of the biggest Indulge parties this season. Uber designer Manish Malhotra created a breathtaking line of clothes that had the guests gasping while PC Jeweller stunned them with their jewellery line that would rival any royal. Party people rubbed shoulders with corporate bigwigs and head honchos. Single malts flowed as did the fabulous grazing snacks. Truly ‘Indulgent.’
