The Shop is back in the city with its season specials
STARTED in Delhi back in 1969, The Shop has become a store renowned for unique prints and is high on quality fabrics. They forayed into the city’s shopping calendar four years ago with two exhibitions a year, co-ordinated by Cecilia Anthraper. With a focus on season-specific fabrics, they visit us in April and December with a wide array of options ranging from bed and table linen to kurtas, harem pants and stoles. In prints and fabrics to complement the festive season ahead, they provide a one-stop solution for all your gifting needs this time of year.
“The entire collection this time is colour co-ordinated for Christmas. Right from table cloths in varying sizes to runners and table mats, you can pick as complete sets or mix and match as per choice,” says Anthraper. A new addition is runners in organdie with delicate chikankari embroidery. The exhibition also offers a range of quilts and dohars (four sheets of fabric sewn together without quilting – ideal for warmer regions) in fine woven cottons and vibrant prints. “The beauty of their products is that they are manufactured entirely in The Shop-owned factories in Noida,” Anthraper shares, adding that everything from design and dyeing to printing and weaving takes place in their factory that also exports to high-end stores like Neiman Marcus.
In the apparel section, they have kurtas, kurtis, harem pants, fitted silk jackets and woollen stoles in interesting colour schemes and designs with richer tones of navy, green and red taking prominence. While their summer exhibition carries light fabrics, this one will see even apparel in thicker weaves and more layered styles. All their products come with a colour guarantee and can be machine-washed as required.
