    Poetry in movement
    Kalakshetra Foundation is organising Suvritti, a six-day festival of performing arts.
    It will see  eminent artistes from around the country performing—including Gayatri Kannan presenting a Bharatanrityam recital and Sathyanarayana Raju showcasing Rama Katha.     Tracing the visual
    A series of lectures at Apparao Galleries will discuss ancient texts and their relevance to aesthetics and the evolution of visual cultures in India. Today, scholar Ramaa Narayanan will speak on the topic, Idols and Temples Through the Looking Glass of Shilpashastra (at 6.30 pm), while Sharada Banu will discuss Bhakti Poetry: Turning Inwards (7.30 pm).     If you are in Pondicherry this weekend, drop by Citadines Centre d’Art, in Auroville, to catch internationally-renowned artist Birgitta Volz’s exhibition, Tree Spirits – Magical Bark Prints.
