Thank you, GQ India, for reminding us about our super-successful, sartorially-sound men. Che Kurrien, genial editor of the venerable men’s magazine from Conde Nast, hosted an evening of Italian fashion, food and fine whisky at The Leela Palace last Friday, where the exclusive guest list saw 40 of our sharpest minds and dressers, all set to impress. To borrow a line from designer and guest Rehane Yavar Dhala, some of them, like industrialist and windsurfer Arun Vasu, don’t seem to age at all! Vasu was joined by motorcycle aficionado TT Siddharth and designer, Chaitanya Rao on a panel at this Gentleman’s Club. Other guests included entrepreneurs like Atul Malhotra and racer Armaan Ibrahim. The flamboyant Shruti Haasan made an entrance, smouldering almost as much as she does on the cover of GQ’s May issue. Later, the talented writer and editor, Kurrien, revealed his ‘Old Madras’ connection and good-naturedly admitted that this city deserved many such initiatives from their magazine.
